If God is for us, who can be against us. Rom 8:31




I am thankful that our God is relentless in His pursuit of His children. We stray, scatter, and at times, run and hide like Adam and Eve. Even in our deepest sin and darkest hours, God seeks to restore us to a righteous relationship with himself. He sees us through the work of Jesus. We are called, justified, and glorified because of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ . As a loving Father, His desire is to bring us to Himself and keep us there. Whatever the enemy tries to put in my way ,God is there to fight for me. When sadness or depression attack, He brings comfort and joy. The Bible speaks over and over of God’s love and mercy and grace. Jesus is the ultimate proof of it, taking my sin, my punishment, giving His life to give me life eternal.

We praise God for a relentless love that pursues us, protects us, and perfects us ; and Jesus Christ, who took my place. Nothing can stand against us.

Whatever circumstance we may find ourselves in, we can be assured that God is there with us and  can use it to benefit us, or others, or to glorify himself. All we have to do is look Beyond the circumstance and see the miraculous things He does with it. Even in something as significant as the loss of a spouse, God can use it and use us, in spite of our grief and pain. Even in brokenness we can minister to other women similar situations, as we cultivate relationships with them,  because we know the way of grief. Being open to God’s guidance in any and all of our experiences, both positive and negative, Increases our faith, shines a light in to the darkness of someone else’s life, and ultimately glorifies our Heavenly Father.  Where I am weak, He is strong.

. Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. Pet10:43-44

Jesus set the example of living a life as a servant throughout his ministry.  The Last Supper is remarkable in that he wrapped a towel around his waist and proceeded to get on his knees before the twelve apostles to wash their feet.  This is the servant attitude and humility that we each strive to emulate. Jesus knew that within hours, he would be betrayed and abandoned,  then tried, convicted, and crucified.... yet, he put that aside and gave his love and  attention to his men.  As we care for others, and make the effort to meet their needs, our lives are enriched and blessed. As we focus on others, we will find our pain and problems are diminished. In ministering to others, we become the hands and feet of Jesus.  Find someone to serve today.

Be still and know that I am God. Ps 46:10

In times of trouble or despair we are reminded emphatically in Psalm 46 that God is in control. We are to leave the battle to Him, and rest under His wing. For the believer, His grace is always sufficient, His help is always present.   My husband’s unexpected death left me in a dark and lonely place, unable to fight against an onslaught of negative thoughts and feelings. My faith faltered, I found it hard to pray. All I could do was quietly rest in Gods presence. I had no prayer, no song, no offering except for my brokenness.    Gods faithfulness was, and continues to be, revealed to me as I rest in stillness, knowing that He is my hope, my help, my refuge, and my redeemer.  I was empty and little by little He has filled me.   This verse was the beginning, others have followed, that have raised me up from the darkness and set a new path before me.
