The Widow’s Two Mites

Luke 21:1-4 New King James Version (NKJV)

21 And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, “Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God,[a] but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.”

A couple weeks ago as I sealed my last five dollars into the offering envelope, I almost laughed out loud. Here I was, acting out Luke 21.   Just another new experience as a “novice” widow .  My desire is to offer comfort and hope to grieving widows as we walk this path individually, yet together.  My plan is to take Scripture verses that speak to me and my process, and add a paragraph or two that explains what the passage means to me

God has been so faithful to me through the grieving process since the death of my husband, and I feel compelled to share some of the scripture verses that have helped me through this journey.  This is my offering, a widow’s mite.
